Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in influence within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of heroes who will separate from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could enable the team enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The grateful character swore a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The cleric defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Questers and Planners parties.
Viewers can expect learning which characters will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on October 24.
